Prints have been a key format for me since my studies in NCAD in 2010. I won the Evans printmakers award and have used print to explore avenues in my art making and as a medium in its own right.
I was awarded the Technical Merit award for Printmaking at City and Guilds of London Art School, 2015.
I have recently used the processes involved to create works researching transitioning and identity issues.
I returned to actively using drawing as a tool for investigation when studying the pathology specimens at the Gordon Museum. This has stimulated my interest in the fine details and information in nerves, tissues and bones. I attended drawing from the cadaver sessions to explore the recording that students undertake to learn how the body functions, an amazing insight for someone not used to exploring the body in such a personal relationship.
